52 Women-Directed Films You Can Watch on the New Criterion Channel

It's here… Several months after the untimely demise of Filmstruck (the cinephile-beloved streaming service that formerly offered up a wide range of programming that incorporated classic films as well as Criterion Collection titles), the Criterion Channel has risen from the ashes. So far, it's about $11 a month (after your free 15-day trial), and at my current count, there are exactly 52 films by women directors currently available for streaming. So if you're looking to meet (or surpass) your #52FilmsbyWomen goal for the year, this is a great place to start, and so far, there don't seem to be any issues with playback or buffering. I've listed the films out below by director, along with a few starred recommendations I've watched and enjoyed recently.
